ItaliaFintech announces the appointment of Andrea Crovetto as President for 2020, and Camilla Cionini Visani as General Director of the Association which brings together the most innovative national and international Fintech companies operating in Italy.

Andrea Crovetto will continue the work of Ignazio Rocco di Torrepadula and Sergio Zocchi, presidents for 2018 and 2019 respectively. Crovetto is the CEO and Founder of Epic SIM, the first Fintech platform where SMEs can present development projects for financing to a selected audience of professional investors. He has previously held managerial positions in banks in Italy and abroad.

Fintech is now part of the Italian system and can boast cutting-edge companies throughout Europe. We are experiencing this challenge right in the middle of this period of emergency, which has demonstrated all the more strikingly the centrality of digital technology: we are aware that there is a lot more to do. The objective for all of us is to promote knowledge of Fintech opportunities and to affirm Italy as a vibrant market for this sector,” Andrea Crovetto emphasized. “And we will achieve all of this by maintaining a dialogue with the market and the authorities.”

Camilla Cionini Visani, from Milan and a graduate of Bocconi University, takes over the role of General Director of the Association, having acquired extensive experience in corporate finance and investment banking working for Schroders and Deutsche Bank in London. She has also worked at the Italian Export Credit Agency (SACE) where she was responsible for finance for internationalization and finally at Confindustria (the General Confederation of Italian Industry) as director of international affairs. More recently she has also been active in the digital sector as President of Triboo.

“The Italian Fintech sector still has significant potential that has yet to be expressed,” declares Camilla Cionini Visani . “I am honoured to be able to work in support of the Association and of the visionary and dynamic entrepreneurs that represent it and contribute every day to promoting innovation in sectors that are crucial for the development of our country.”
