On Thursday, 23 October, ItaliaFintech took part in a high-level meeting with EU Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investments Union, Maria Luís Albuquerque.

The discussion brought together key representatives from the European fintech ecosystem, including Satispay, Nexi, and AIFI, to address strategic priorities for the sector in light of upcoming regulatory developments.

ItaliaFintech advocated for:

  • a clear and proportionate implementation of the FIDA Regulation, ensuring open access to data and fair competition;
  • a balanced approach to anti-money laundering rules, avoiding duplication and operational uncertainty for fintech platforms;
  • the creation of a coherent and innovation-friendly 28th Regime, as a key step toward strengthening the Single Market and removing national barriers.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of ongoing dialogue between institutions and industry players to shape a regulatory framework that supports growth, competitiveness, and innovation across Europe.
